Why You Should Avoid Using Double Adapters in Your Home

We live in a digital age and use a large number of electrical and electronic devices; our home also has many electrical appliances. And we often just grab a double adapter to allow us to use the multiple devices we need in that space. This is something we all very commonly do in our home, not realising that it can be extremely risky to do so.

Most of us aren’t aware of how much power each of the electrical devices needs; this is why we should never risk attaching too many devices to a single electrical outlet as that can compromise the electrical safety in our homes.

More problems

Most double adapters are designed very poorly and that also means there are many loose connections since the plugs enter the adapters at an angle. If the plug becomes a little dislodged that can pose a problem because the exposed pug pins are live. If any jewellery or even your finger comes into contact with these live pins accidentally that can result in a blowout or electrocution.

Some people also go to the extent of piggybacking adapters- they plug one adapter into the socket in the wall and then another double adapter into it. The idea is to provision for as many outlets as possible through a single electrical outlet. This can result in overheating when multiple devices are being charged which increases the risk of an electrical fire. As you can see, it’s never a good idea to use double adapters regularly or as a permanent solution to charge devices in your home.
